Advent 2015 – Week 3 – Monday

Advent implies that we are anticipating something coming or arriving. There is a lot of anticipation in the Advent season. Many of us are anticipating the celebration of Christmas week. Children are waiting in anticipation of a gift.

Reflect: What are you anticipating this Advent? It could be something to do with the Christmas week itself. It could be anticipating something to do with the end of the calendar year, or the start of the new one. It might be good things you are anticipating, or maybe some memories, or sadness. Journal some of the things you are anticipating.

Pray: Father, there are many things that I am anticipating in my life right now. But today, I want to ask you to fill me with anticipation during Advent, as we wait to celebrate your birth. Fill me with anticipation of Joy, Hope and Love. Help me to anticipate your Presence in my life, today and in the future. Help me to anticipate your second coming too. Teach me what it means to wait for your return. Teach me what that means for my life today. Amen!
